Laurie McCool Learning Centre
In 2021, the Palmerston North Hospital Medical Trust made a contribution of $285,600 towards equipping the Laurie McCool Learning Centre.
The centre, located in Palmerston North Hospital’s former Clinical Records Building, contains meeting rooms and office spaces designed to support clinical teams with their ongoing learning and career progression.
The new site also includes a dedicated study room and a quiet room, as well as lounge and kitchenette, and provides different meeting and study options for all staff.
The Trust contributed towards audio visual, computer equipment and other technology, acoustics, Wifi access, and meeting room furniture.
Also located in the Laurie McCool Learning Centre is the Clinical Lecture Theatre, Clinical Library, General Surgeons, Urologists, Ophthalmologists, ENT Surgeons, Surgical Line Secretary, RMOs and the Medical Administration Unit .
A formal blessing for the Laurie McCool Learning Centre was held on 22 July and the centre opened in late July 2021.
The Laurie McCool Learning Centre, is a key facility to support health professionals in their ongoing career and learning. It is a protected learning space for all.
