Available to any member of the Palmerston North Hospital junior medical staff. Paper submitted may be on any aspect of medicine or surgery in the broadest sense or on any of its sub-specialties.

Available to any registered nurse employed at the Palmerston North Hospital engaged in a nursing education programme at Masters or Doctoral level. Consideration is given to length of service, relevance of the planned education programme to the applicant’s scope of nursing practice, record of academic achievement, evidence of clear planning towards professional career objectives and evidence of any other contributions to nursing.

Available to support the visit by an appropriate medical specialist, as recommended by the Post Graduate Medical Society Executive.

Available to any member of the Palmerston North Hospital nursing staff. Nursing staff will be advised of this by the Director of Nursing in March each year.

To be granted to an experienced nurse of the permanent nursing staff, having significant tenure of Palmerston North Hospital. To assist that person to travel, preferably to an overseas location or locations, where new skills experience and professional expertise can be attained by the recipient of the grant.
